The first time I noticed a bird standing on one leg, I thought it was handicapped, but soon realized that this is an inherrent behavior. What a neat and perfect balancing act!
Spring 2021 Award and Honors: I am pleased to say that two of my photos have been accepted into the 24th Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Spring Art Show taking place at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC. One of them, "Seeking the Sun," was chosen for an honorable mention! The other photo is called, "Coneflower Jumble." "Seeking the Sun" "Coneflower Jumble" Spring Shows: One of my ceramic vases was juried into the 22nd Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Show at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC, but the show was cancelled due to the 2020 Covid-19 Virus Pandemic. I do hope that the many art shows that were cancelled recently will be able to return next year. My heart goes out to artists all...

What a great capture. Birds lift their one leg up when they sleep or roost. I have a bird and she does this and turns her head to tuck partly under one wing when she sleeps. Great timing. Congratulations on your sale.

Thank you, Kathy! I captured it with a telephoto lens on my digital camera. It posed very nicely for me, an unusual happening!! Usually, you are still composing the scene and the bird flies away quickly! Blessings, Suzanne

It is a beautiful bird about 18-20" tall. I'm sure its other leg is up in the feathers. I have to find out why they do this! thank you, Carl and Davilla, for your comments! Blessings, Suzanne
