Artist's Description
Now, signs are placed in front of the Angel Oak on Johns Island, SC, to inform people to not climb on the limbs or carve your name or deface the tree in any way! The tree may only be 3-400 years old, but the legend is that it's over 1,000 years old! The limbs become so large they weigh so much that the limbs often touch the ground before they grow back up in the air, helping to cause the gnarliness that you see here.
About Suzanne Gaff
Spring 2021 Award and Honors: I am pleased to say that two of my photos have been accepted into the 24th Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Spring Art Show taking place at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC. One of them, "Seeking the Sun," was chosen for an honorable mention! The other photo is called, "Coneflower Jumble." "Seeking the Sun" "Coneflower Jumble" Spring Shows: One of my ceramic vases was juried into the 22nd Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Show at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC, but the show was cancelled due to the 2020 Covid-19 Virus Pandemic. I do hope that the many art shows that were cancelled recently will be able to return next year. My heart goes out to artists all...

Thanks so much to the collector who purchased a print of this historic live oak, which some say is the oldest living thing east of the Mississippi River, maybe even more of North America! May you enjoy it for years to come. Blessings, Suzanne
