Description
In the spring, this estuary south of Myrtle Beach, SC, is a favorite place to visit! Watching the voracious fledglings mature is quite a sight! The cycles of nature never cease to amaze--how helpless the tiny egrets are at birth and how quickly they must mature and leave the nest in one season, how vigilant the elder birds must be, while the alligators lay in wait for a chance "meal".

It represents my first trip to an estuary after moving to South Carolina... a very special memory which I'm glad was captured that day.
